Here are some pictures: As someone whose extended family lives in Wuhan, whose cousin works as a nurse in Wuhan and has braved her way through the mess of it all, this campaign means a lot to me personally; more than just a moral opportunity to show community service, it's also a way to indirectly thank my cousin.
YCC, as a community service organization, existing for over 15 years now, has always aimed to help in more than just community service; and that’s why we’re releasing this Meals for Health Heroes project. Being the president, giving the go-ahead to start this campaign also means bearing the weight of its potential failure; but it’s a risk that I’m willing to take, in both personal and professional reasons. I think it’ll prevail, but that comes with the help of everyone around me too. I hope that everyone who comes across these posts about it realizes the utmost importance of uniting a community, helping others and subsequently themselves. At crucial times like these, it's critical that we set aside our differences and end this once and for all. of course, that starts with the smallest of actions; and a simple transaction is one of those. - Isabella With the kindness of our community, we have raised over $800 dollars within 24 hours! We are currently planning details for food deliveries to UCSD Health AND Scripps Health, and the food will soon be sent to the hospitals.
Thank you so much to everyone that chose to donate to this cause, and another big thanks to everyone that is helping to spread the word. Together, we can help ease the heavy burden that our healthcare providers are carrying everyday. Here are some kind messages from some of our donors: "We’ll go through this together. Thank You to medical professionals and ACCEF volunteers❤️" "Great idea, great action!" "Thanks, for helping out the community!" |
